Last Sunday, September 8, we concluded the “Jacob” series from Genesis. We have found Jacob to be an example of stubbornness and self-will who was willing to resort to deceit in order to get his own way. And, we have found that God is willing and able to tame even the most willful of us. In this final message, we thought about Jacob/Israel’s striving I am borrowing a phrase from “A Mighty Fortress” for our title: “Our Striving Would be Losing,” (Genesis 35).
